Rental Information

Hay Barn and Ocean View Site Reservations

Due to the impact on campus operations, we only host weddings on Saturdays and Sundays.

Rentals are reserved on a first come first serve basis. Your date is reserved once we have received:

  • A holding deposit equal to $500.00 for the Hay Barn, and an additional $150.00 for the Ocean View. Holding deposits can be paid via credit card or via check.
  • A signed copy of the Hay Barn and/or Ocean View Field* Rental and Use Agreement.

Rental Policies

  • We have a 10PM sound ordinance that requires all amplified music be cut at 10PM.
  • We have a mandatory 11PM event end time.
  • We do not allow balloons anywhere on our property. 

The Hay Barn is considered a self-serve “leave-no-trace” space. The Event Holder is responsible for general set up and clean up after the event, including removing all trash and recyclable materials, wiping tables and chairs, sweeping the floor, and cleaning spillages before leaving. The Hay Barn Events Team does not provide setup, staffing, or catering services.

Damage to the Hay Barn, the landscape surrounding it, equipment, or furniture will result in charges equal to the replacement costs. All event holders assume responsibility for their party’s compliance with UCSC’s rules and regulations. It is the responsibility of the Event Holder to follow the UCSC Events with Alcoholic Beverages Policy and acquire a State of California Alcohol Permit when applicable.
